Carmel Ormoc

A NEW COMMUNITY IS BORN! - "A religious community, as an expression of the Church, is a fruit of the Spirit and a participation in the Trinitarian communion. For this reason, each and every religious is committed to feel co-responsible for fraternal life in common, so that it will manifest clearly their belonging to Christ, who chooses and calls brothers and sisters to live together in His name."  - from "Fraternal Life in Community" by the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life

Please join us in praying for the flourishing of our new community (ad experimentum) -- the St. Therese of Lisieux Carmelite Community of Ormoc!

Previously attached to the San Alberto Community of Cebu, the Ormoc community will now function independently and will continue to be in-charge of the Carmelite Spirituality Center, various mission and development projects, as well as the pastoral needs of those whom God has placed under our care.

We thank our brothers -- Fr. Sirenio Jaranilla, O.Carm., Fr. Joiezl Piñon, O.Carm., and Br. Marjune Caloring, O.Carm. -- for joyfully responding to their new assignment. Health in the Lord!

7/7/2023

On this date, 7/7/2023, we started the Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The homily expounded on forgiveness and repentance, our model are the apostles, particularly, Matthew, considered by many as sinner but healed by the Divine Physician.

7/8/2023

The second day of novena expounded on “fresh wine is not placed inside old wineskins” meaning, the message of the Lord should be placed in renewed hearts to flourish. The Prior of Saint Therese of the child Jesus, Fr Joiezl Piñon, celebrated the Mass for second day.

7/9/2023

The third day of novena of Our Lady was done in the morning. We are thankful with the parishioners who came to spend their time with us. Fr Joiezl Piñon celebrated the Mass, his family from Isabel, Leyte also graced the occasion. We were all reminded to be yoked with our Lord.

Brgy. Milagro, Ormoc, Leyte

CARMEL is a garden...

Carmel is full of spiritual bouquet...

Carmel is a refreshing spring for those who thirst...

Whether you seek to re-discover the beauty in yourselves, an inspiration to your dry spirits, a renewal of your tired hearts... Carmel is always a refuge for you.

In the mountains of Barangay Milagro, Ormoc, Leyte, Carmel Philippines began a Center where you can be who you are with our God... You can commune to the Lord in silence and you can re-collect the shattered pieces of your soul...

Welcome then to Carmel Ormoc...

As you can see your help went a long, long way... we have started that which long ago was seemingly impossible to put up...

For all the help, you sent through Fr. Aris Escobal and the rest of our friars, our foundation, and our parishes... we will always be grateful... Rest assured, we shall include you in the intentions of the Young Carmel Philippine Foundation... most of all, in our Masses and prayers...

However, much is still to be done for the Carmelite Spirituality Center... a CHAPEL is yet to be realized... the hermitages has to be constructed... a session kiosk will be erected... thousand of trees has to be planted on the mountain side with the help of your hands... the way of the cross and the road as an ascent to Carmel is under development.

You can help us... either by being present and lend your hands in tree planting or you can materially support us construct the Chapel, Hermitages and Kiosk.

In this journey, we hope you would be our life raft...
